GAME DESIGN
CraBall
One of the small game projects I worked on during my career development at the Ideas Lab in Aarhus, Denmark.
It is a 2D arcade fighting game for 2 players, where your goal is to defeat your crab opponents and claim more land for yourself. I worked on this project with two other developers and our goal was to practice the game development cycle, collaboration, and creating 2D game in GameMaker.
I was mainly in charge of the overall game design, level design, and project management. The outcome of this collaboration is a short prototype that showcases the closed gameplay loop and a basis for future iteration on the gameplay mechanics.
Pathwardens - level design exercise
Individual 1-week exercise.
I worked on this exercise during a Game Design course at Dania Games in Grenaa. I joined this course to deepen my game design knowledge and support my main bachelor studies.
This was one of many exercises I completed during the course. I’m highlighting this one because it was among the most extensive and best reflects my interest in level design.
Mindful ChuChu
This was a 5-week student research project I worked on with three other students at Business Academy Aarhus, Denmark.
The main goal of this research project was to create a prototype of a VR game that can make ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) more interactive and immersive through the use of virtual reality headsets, directional audio, and haptic feedback from the controllers.
During this project, I was responsible for:
Project management
Game design
Level design
The Lost Colony of Roanoke
This narrative-driven text game was made during a GameDevHub Czech course I took in Narrative Design (Interactive Writing). It was the final project thanks to which I successfully completed the course.
The story is heavily inspired by a real event on Roanoke Island in the late 1500s. I tackled topics like world building or story beats, and I learned how to develop interactive games in Twine.
Evil Pac-Man
A VR game I made together with two students during an elective course - Game Experiences. I was in charge of Game Design, Game Programming, and Project Management.
Here I learned how to approach VR games development in Unity, how to create game design documents, or how to conduct playtests.
